The
National Association of United Methodist Foundations is an
organization of foundations related to the United Methodist Church
whose purposes are to enhance the ministries of the church
through:
-
the development of endowment funds
-
the creation and administration of charitable trusts
-
the solicitation of charitable funds
management of long term funds for churches, agencies and
institutions of The United Methodist Church
-
assisting persons in developing wills, trusts, planned giving
instruments and estate plans that will:
-
maximize estate to family
-
-
provide for the ministry of the church
The
purpose of The National Association of United Methodist
Foundations (NAUMF) is:
-
To create a new consciousness of Christian philanthropy
-
To enhance the giving heart
-
To strengthen the local church for ministry, and
-
To strengthen the general church for ministry.
NAUMF seeks to develop a growing body of Christians who, as
a basic component of their personal and corporate expressions of
faith, are committed to being philanthropists. Individuals and
communities of the faithful will be given the opportunity to
develop an ever-expanding understanding of the meaning of
Christian philanthropy, an understanding that will challenge the
heart and the mind.
As individuals and communities awaken and commit themselves to a
broader understanding of stewardship, the local and general church
will have the opportunity to strengthen their shared ministries.
Increased understanding of the need to be stewards and increased
financial support for the ministries of the church at all levels —
the goal of the NAUMF.
